Malmsbury is a lovely small village about an hour from Melbourne. Drive off the Calder Highway and onto the large, Oak lined main street, with the village green on your right, where you might spot the wandering town geese, and the famous Malmsbury Bakery on your left. There's also a wine bar, Provincial Table, the local pub, some vintage stores, a chemist, general store and a great reastaurant, The Stables, opposite the Botanical Gardens. The Gardens feature a lake, walking paths, kids playground, picnic tables and public toilets.
